half done

so everything around here is half done……i can’t seem to get anything ALL done.

after the Christmas tree fell…we stopped decorating it….and the angel doesn’t fit.

i can’t set the dining room table because we need to finish painting one wall….that has been left undone since the renovations.

shopping and wrapping……half done.

sewing projects….started but not done.

christmas cards….half done.

and baking…well….lets just say we are having technical difficulties……our new stove….doesn’t fit…..so baking is on hold.

we did find Santa again…although according to Cooper  aka Mr. Nose (he smells EVERYTHING")  “Santa was smelly.”  yikes!

Snow days are exhausting!

our first snow day of the school year…the kids were excited!!

i, on the other hand had a list of things i was hoping to accomplish and knew the day was going in a whole new direction after they cancelled school.

we started out shoveling the driveway…..Cooper is actually diving into the snow and rolling around in it… he was so excited to see it!

after a few hours we went inside to make cookies…the kids got right to work!

and what would be a snow day without stickering yourself….they were quiet for 30 minutes doing this…..

back outside….great snowman making snow….not great for shoveling though….very heavy snow.

Cooper was very proud of “Frosty”

Santa, Snow, Santa

“I'm going to sit on Santa’s lap this year mommy!” Cooper said on our way to breakfast with Santa. Last year he kept a safe distance from him.

and proceeded to tell Santa he wanted a vacuum and a tractor.

the snow came down in big white flakes

the good, the bad, and the ugly

the good……..it started out good.

on Friday we set out to find the perfect tree

cooper even brought the right tool

DSCN2046DSCN2048DSCN2056

found it, cut it….all before the sun went down….perfect timing!

DSCN2065

last year a fellow blogger passed on this great idea of sorting out the ornaments and giving each child their own to put up….my kids got right to work! DSCN2099 DSCN2100  DSCN2107 DSCN2108 DSCN2113

the bad……a little tantrum from Cooper…very common these days……we are finding 3 is a TERRIBLE age.

DSCN2104

and the ugly…..well, i wasn’t able to get a picture of this because i had my hands full of Christmas tree…literally.  the tree came crashing down…ornaments and all….it was quite a scene.  2 kiddos crying because a tree falling and ornaments breaking was a bit too scary for them.  Hubby has since tied the tree to the wall…but the darn thing is still crooked…hoping this is the only drama we have this holiday season!

Toddler Tuesday

on Tuesday we checked out the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge…a must see if you ever find yourself in the Berkshires.

Tuesday is “Toddler Tuesday.”

DSCN1997

the grounds are really beautiful but on the day we went it was around 30 degrees and flurries…too cold to explore.

for some reason i love when trees are planted in a row!

DSCN1999DSCN2000

we sat and listened to The Duchess of Whimsy and explored the museum to look at prints from the book. And then we were off to the craft room!

     DSCN2003 DSCN2004

the only pictures i was allowed to take in the museum was of the Christmas village they have set up.

DSCN2005

Cooper loved the train, i loved the village pieces of downtown Stockbridge.

DSCN2006

After exploring the museum for as long as a 3 year old can take, we went outside to catch some snowflakes.

a little Christmas magic

i always loved it when mom would ask, “would anyone like an early present?!” she was always just as excited as we were.

so, when the kids got home from school…i told them there was a present hiding for them….apparently I'm not the world’s best hider because Caroline went right to the bathroom tub….i better watch out because when i asked her how she knew it would be there she said, “because thats where the Easter bunny hides our baskets!”

 DSCN1971 DSCN1975

I couldn’t wait for them to see the magic of the carousel….like i remember.  I showed them that there wasn’t any batteries or any plug and they tried to guess how the carousel turned….they both agreed that it was “Santa’s magic!”
