last weekend we visited a playground that we hadn’t been to in 3 years…..cooper was just born and caroline was 2! Looking back at the pictures makes me smile…..those cheeks! And her wispy hair i always pulled back in two pony knots.

apple picking

we finally made it to the orchard this year….bundled up, had a picnic, picked some apples, played hide and seek…so much fun!

came home and made an apple pie….the apples were so big it only took 4! the best ever….a piece of warm apple pie with my coffee in the morning.

Praline topping for apple pie

this topping is for a pie with a top crust….just pour it over a cool pie….to let the topping set and then warm when ready to serve.

1.  Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a small sauce pan. add 1/2 cup of light brown sugar (firmly packed), add 2 Tbsp. of whipping cream.

2.  Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.

3.  Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans, let stand for 5 minutes and drizzle over cool pie.

all in a day

on Saturday we packed up the car and headed out for the day.

First stop was the local museum…i scored free tickets to the frog exhibit….of course i didn’t get any pictures of all the neat frogs….just pics of the kids climbing all over the dinosaurs.

 DSCN1460DSCN1457

after over 2 hours at the museum we headed to our next stop….Whitney’s Farm Stand….pony rides, hay rides, playground, petting zoo, bouncy slide…and pumpkins!

Back in the car…we headed to Grampa and Nonna’s house to get warm and have a few snacks!

and for our last stop of the day…Mt. Greylock, the highest peak in Massachusetts.  The kids loved being up so high and taking in the view…but it was cold! The kids and Rob climbed the tower and i found the hot chocolate in the lodge.

Dentist or Spa?

silly question right? spa day wins hands down…

but according to my kids…going to the dentist is like going to the spa…crazy, i know.

this was Cooper’s first time in the big chair…and boy was he excited! I love how the napkin bib is covering most of his body!

Caroline had fun taking a few beauty shots.
